George's Alaska River Badge Drop
Alaska's Kenai lowlands hold the Swan Lake and Swanson River canoe systems, over a hundred miles of lakes strung together by portages, so you hike about as much as you paddle. Lake water runs 50 to 60 degrees, cold enough to end an argument. Canoeists must register at the entrance where they embark, and wear the life jacket; it's the law for kids under 13. Eight pieces: three tees, a muscle tank, a crop tee, and three full-color caps. Pack it in, pack it out.
Paddle On.
